Heartbeats, Brainwaves, and Neurons

Think of the three critical systems in our body that keep us alive.

• We have a heartbeat
• We have brain waves 
• We have a nervous system

These systems are analogous to the essential work we must do as major donor fundraisers:

• We have heartbeats - We tell stories of impact.
• We have brain waves - We message our vision, mission and outcomes with clarity and excitement.

When there is no heartbeat, your brain waves cease within minutes. If you have a heartbeat and no brain waves, your body is no longer capable of functioning. Speaking to the hearts and brains of donors can open up an abundance of opportunities for your organization to grow and thrive.

Then we have a nervous system where neurons are the basic building blocks. They communicate with one another through electrical and chemical signals.

Without active and healthy neurons you have no communication between your brain and the rest of your body. It essentially controls your ability to move, breathe, see, think, etc.
